This goes out to all you college students out there that would
like to shed the freshmen fifteen. Whether you are a freshmen
or a fifth year senior, here's a few tricks on how to find a
comfortable means of getting a good workout.
Anyone that has ever tried to work out at a gym for the first
time knows it can be a scary experience. It feels like everyone
is staring at your and measuring you up. You may feel out of
place with so much unique equipment all around, and there always
just happens to be a group of seemingly professional body builders
when you decide to start working out. Well I am here to tell
you that working out in the gym is an unnecessary chore.
Simply by doing a few push-ups and sit-ups before
each shower, you can help your body maintain a healthy look
and feel. Plus, there is a convenience factor of being able
to follow with a shower right when you are finished; making
you feel fresh and rejuvenated to start your day.
A good approach when first starting to exercise is to start
slow and keep to an easy pace. Often times, people will begin
to work out only to find that they are too sore to continue
to work out and they quickly lose interest in carrying on with
their workout regiment. Beginning with doing just 5 sets of
5 push-ups and sit-ups is a great way to build endurance. Eventually
you can add more repetitions and sets and even try adding weights
to get a better workout.
Creating a chart for your workouts is an easy way of staying
on top of things. Not only do they help to build a healthy regiment,
but they can be helpful in relieving stress. Seeing what you
have planned makes it easy to tackle the tasks at hand and to
plan your workout around your day, rather than the other way
around.
Choosing to eat healthier meals is another great idea. If you
are going to eat lunch, eat light. It is a good time to delve
into the world of salads and fruits. Apples and yogurt are great
snacks between meals if you should find the need. Apples work
well to give your body a feeling of being full and yogurt is
just plain tasty.
Of course, eating healthy does not have to mean counting your
calories. In fact, it's better to snack on tasty candies and
things of that nature once in a while, than to fight the urge
for too long only to go crazy and eat all of them at once. All
together, if you're not happy with your workout plan, you're
not likely to stick with it. So do what works for you, and what
makes you happiest.
