-It offers a forum for storm chasers to exchange discussion, pictures, and science of meteorology. A lot of storm chasers advertise their storm chasing videos that they sell through the forums. Other meteorological instrumentation companies have advertisements which run on stormtrack.

-There is a very tight community among storm chasers. Everyone cheering eachother on for the sake of the science, but also competition between chasers to get the best shot/data from a storm.
